About

Grant Pitel: Grant is a consultant specializing in power electronics design, analysis, simulation, and digital control. He earned a bachelor degree at Cornell University School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and minor in Computer Science at Ithaca NY in 2003. Here he concentrated on digital signal processing (DSP). Immediately afterwards he traveled to Champaign IL to study power electronics under the guidance of Prof. Krein at University of Illinois’s . As a researcher in the Power and Energy Systems, he studied performance limitations in switching power converters and devised topologies and controllers to help overcome them. Grid connected digital control techniques and were also researched and implemented. In addition to his research duties, Grant was a laboratory teaching assistant for ECE469: Power Electronics Laboratory, ECE431: Electric Machinery, ECE455: Senior Design, and did a three month internship at Google’s Platforms Division in Mountain View, CA. He received a M.S. in 2005 and a Ph.D. in 2008. In 2009 he joined PC Krause and Associates as full-as a time consultant and works as a part-time consultant for Magna-Power Electronics Inc .

Sheryl Rubin-Pitel: Sheryl earned her bachelors degree in Biology from Cornell University in 2003. Currently she is a research assistant at the University of Illinois pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, and is a Fellow of both the NIH Cell and Molecular Biology Training Grant and the NSF Graduate Reasearch Fellowship Program. She is proficient in the culturing and transformation of bacteria, DNA cloning, protein expression and analysis, bioinformatics tools such as ClustalW and BLAST, and analytical techniques including HPLC. Her professional focus is largely on the engineering of enzymes by rational design and directed molecular evolution. Some of Sheryl’s personal interests include photography, drawing, fresh and salwater aquarium fish, aviculture, and, naturally, anything to do with dogs.
Adam Pitel: Adam is currently studying for his Masters of Engineering for Electrical Engineering at Princeton University, while working at Magna-Power Electronics as Director of Business Development. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science at Bucknell University. Besides engineering, Adam enjoys all aspects of film.
