City Pass

City PassSheryl, a co-worker, his wife, and I recently returned from a weekend getaway in Chicago.  This has been my second visit and on both occasions I purchased the City Pass.  The City Pass is a booklet which contains admission to attractions in major cities such as New York, Chicago, Boston, etc.  Each booklet was $50, which pays for itself if you visit at least three attractions.  However, there are other perks I would like to comment on.

DSCF2649.JPGWhen you pay to enter museums you expect it permits you to see everything offered, right?  WRONG!  Museums coax you into paying more for special exhibits.  Personally, I forego extra frills, and stick to normal admission, but the situation is different with City Pass; it includes bonus exhibits like IMAX and the temporary exhibits.  With these, City Pass pulls its weight.  Another City Pass feature is it bypasses waiting in line.  I can’t tell you how gratifying it was, waltzing past a crowd of screaming children and anxious parent, and through the front entrance.  In summary, I recommend the City Pass, especially during the travel season, it definetly made my visit more enjoyable.

I find your discussion of our Chicago trip woefully incomplete. I will have to revisit this topic at a later time, in another post.

    I find your comment melodramatic.
